Mx7 Coaxial Bookshelf Speaker

To design a speaker that is absolute phase linear and time coherent (an absolute point source) and suitable for various listening position and distance.
The performance of many coaxial speaker was compromised by insufficient high frequency response, lack of bass tightness.

Recognizing constrains of a conventional point source design, Sound Mechanics engineers have spent many years in developing a different approach. The result is essentially a 6 1/2"coaxial unit housed in a special 7 litres compact enclosure with a patented wave guide port. Mechanical phase linear and time coherence are achieved through the deployment of a radical 2nd order serial two-way crossover. The serial crossover not only presents a constant impedance load to the power amplifier, it also produces continuous in-phase signals during frequency and phase variations for the tweeter and woofer. The M7 is probably the first commercially produced point source speaker with both mechanical and electrical phase linearity.

M16 is a high power 3 way phase linear, time coherent transducer with a truly wide band frequency response with sufficient power to fullfil todays' dynamic requirements.
This woofer is extremely musical 10" paper cone. To handle these powerful bass drivers patented multilaminor enclosure and patented dual enclosure are employed. The mid range units are 2- 4.5" papercone unit with unusual smooth midrange response.

The multicomponent crossover circuit also is extremely phase linear in the mid range region as human beings are extremely sensitive to any distortion in these regions.
